Simon Pamplin
Simon is a forensic crash reconstructionist, mechanical engineer, and licensed private investigator based in Brisbane, Australia. With more than 30 years of experience across law enforcement, insurance, and engineering, he specialises in uncovering the truth behind complex vehicle incidents.
His career began as a mechanical engineer with the UK Ministry of Defence before serving as a traffic specialist with both the UK and New Zealand Police. He later worked extensively in the insurance sector, leading investigations into crash dynamics, hail damage authenticity, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Today, Simon provides independent consulting for legal and insurance clients, combining technical precision with investigative insight.
He holds certifications in crash reconstruction, event data recorder (EDR) and infotainment data analysis, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) testing, and insurance compliance, and is proficient with industry-leading tools such as Bosch, Berla, and Collision Science systems.
Whether reconstructing a crash, analysing digital vehicle data, or presenting expert testimony in court, Simon’s focus is always on accuracy, clarity, and defensible results.
